So a few months ago, I designed a little something on photoshop.
It wasn't anything incredible, but it took me some time and I felt real happy with how it came out.
Then last week, I saw that an organization had downloaded it from my page, put their logo on it and put it on their page.
I was all like...say what?!?!
So, since I have friends who have my back, they totally called the people out.
Who then said that it was indeed them who had designed it.
And again, I was all like...say what?!?!
And then this morning.
I was reading my Bible.
In the book of Psalms, to be exact.
And I read this.
When I consider your heavens, the works of your fingers, the moon and the stars...what is man that you are mindful of him?
Then it said this.
You made them rulers over the works of your hands.
And it was like a little slap in the face.
How many times do I "put my logo on things"?
Act like they are mine...
My health, my kids, my family, my possessions, my work, my ministry...
and on and on and on.
Do I take credit for things that in reality, I have nothing to do with?
God gives me gifts.
He gives me blessings, abilities, clients, friends, energy.
Do I take credit for my business doing well?
Do I take credit for the times that my kids do all the right things?
Do I take credit for possessions I have?
So maybe I need to be reminded of what it feels like when one person takes credit for something another person does.
Everything I have is God's.
The reminder of the fact that we have no guarantee of our very lives is enough to shake me up.
Everything I have is God's.
Did I say that yet?
I need to remind myself of this constantly.
Go ahead and read Psalms 8.
It is a great reminder of our amazing God who created us.
He blesses us and lets us have control over the things that HE makes.
The things that have His logo all over them.
I needed the little slap in the face.
The little reminder.
Don't get confused and start taking the credit yourself for anything.
Nothing you have is yours.
It's God's.
Word.
What a great reminder!!!
